SPOTLIGHT: SUMMER SNOW JUICE

We’ve been growing fruit at Bellevue Orchard since 1953, mostly supplying fresh apples and pears to markets and grocers around Australia.

It all changed after a hail storm hit the orchard on the Australia Day weekend with the orchard blanketed with hailstones, like snow, across the orchard. The harvest was about to start with the first of the fruit nearly ready to be picked. Inspiration and ingenuity from this twist of fate, it was decided to install a juicing plant and make real fruit juice.

A second hand juicing machine was acquired from family friends and restored by Robert Russo. Together with his brother Joe, over the next few months, and many late nights, the storm kissed fruit was used to craft delicious Australian juice.

Summer Snow Juice was born and named for the hailstorm that had swept through the orchard and damaged the crop.

Producing variety specific juice from the start, family members visited greengrocers and attended markets to sell directly. Over time Summer Snow Juice has grown and evolved, and the product range includes still and lightly carbonated sparkling juices, that are still all natural and 100% Australian.

Bellevue Orchard is the home of Summer Snow Juice. Our farm gate provides the unique experience for you to sample and enjoy our juices where the apples are grown and the juices crushed, pressed and bottled.
